I officially got confirmation that we’ll be working from home until at least January and it got me thinking about the last 7 months or so since I began working at home.

I started wFH sometime the week of March 9th. Wild to look back at the HR e-mail that says there’s a possibility we’ll be working from home that next week, and if so, it will be temporary.

So I just found out two days ago that smoky is only spelled Smokey if you are referring to the fire-prevention bear. I was wondering why my phone kept making it a proper noun, haha! I don’t know why I think it’s so funny that they added an “e” to his name to humanize it – why not just name him Smoky the Bear? (No weed involved in the making of that observation.)

Smokey has come up a lot with some crazy wild fires rolling through the area.

Well, I’ve decided to pick up the blog again. We aren’t traveling at the moment, but I’ve been meaning to write more. Plus it’s fun to look back at some of the day to day. Well, it happened….

I cried.

I know, I know, it was bound to happen and quite honestly, I’m impressed I made it three weeks before I did.

We’ve officially been in DF for two weeks!

Over the weekend I saw a Lucha Libre show, which was everything I wanted it to be! It was campy, so entertaining and, honestly, pretty impressive. Think large men, doing acrobatics in tiny spandex. Plus beers the size of my head! What more can I say? Totally worth going at least once.

I also took a tour of the Merced Market,

People say you know a language when you start to dream in it…Well, I’m not there yet, haha. I did have a dream (nightmare?) that I got turned away from Panaderia Rosetta for ordering a German croissant alemán instead of an almond one almendra, so that makes me like half fluent, right?! I know, I know, so bad and trust me asking for a German pastry is the least of my language worries.

Well, after some unnecessarily long travel (thanks American Airlines) we’ve arrived in Mexico City!

Between catching up on work and unpacking there hasn’t been time to explore much, but we have managed to have two delicious dinners and some great Tlacoyos and tacos. We have a few good street stalls dangerously close by 😉
