This casa was actually booked up when we got there but we had e-mailed ahead of time and they were able to let us use the apartment across the street. We were told someone was in the second room of the apartment the first night (we had a lock on our door and felt comfortable leaving our things there even with a stranger.) It didn’t appear anyone else came though – at least we never saw or heard them.

Trinidad vs. la boca vs. playa ancon:

I get asked about which of these three locations is best to stay in a lot.  Here’s my opinion:

From Trinidad it’s about 10 minutes to La Boca and 15 minutes to Playa Ancon by car. I was not very impressed by Playa Ancon. I had no desire to stay at a hotel anyway, but that decision was confirmed when I saw the tired, concrete hotels that lined Ancon.
